Where to find breakfast

Baffled Coffee is a buzzing continental-inspired café and garden where you will be served one of the best  full English breakfasts done the Baffled way. Located on Fawcett Road, just south of Fratton railway station their motto is “Simple things done well”. A small cosy cafe decorated using pallet furniture with interesting artwork and photography on the walls. In addition to the coffee which is smooth and agreeable they serve a great brunch, sandwiches, cakes and specials. All of which are freshly homemade.

They also offer supper clubs and Aperitivo e Cicchetti nights.

Colleges

In the UK, higher education (the Americans call it “college”) is known as “university.” “College” actually has another meaning in the UK — it’s where many students go for two years after completing compulsory schooling at 16 in order to prepare for exams to get into university.

Whilst it is no longer free after nineteen, it remains free at the point of entry. Many courses in reading, writing and basic maths are free, and you may not have to pay for tuition if you’re under 24 and studying for your first qualification equivalent to GCSE or A level. And even though tuition has risen, students have access to more resources than ever before to help pay for all the other costs that might stand in the way of enrollment (e.g., housing, food, books, and transportation).
