Canvas Coffee opened shop back in 2014. Being a speciality coffee shop they showcased some really exciting speciality coffees from different roasters from across the world and were ‘guesting’ coffees from different roasters every couple of weeks.
Some were really amazing tasting coffees but others fairly boring, flat ones that just didn’t taste as good as the others.
This was put down to a lack of experience, but after a while curiousity clicked in and they decided to take some courses.
Next was a small 2.4kg roaster, called Tony (after Tony the tiger) and they began roasting when the coffee shop was closed – on a Sunday!
After 37kilos of practicing and some coffee that tasted the way it should, they started selling it. A little hobby that has grown a fair bit. Now stocked each week at Canvas Coffee in Portsmouth, supplied few wholesale customers and being guested by a number of speciality coffee shops their coffee is also available online.
